Academics

Welcome to the Academics Department at San Luis High School, where we're dedicated to nurturing your academic and career aspirations!

Congratulations on beginning your journey towards graduation. Our department manages diverse curricula, including traditional academics founded on Cambridge curriculum and AZ state standards, Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, dual enrollment courses for college credit, and challenging Advanced Placement (AP) courses, all designed to prepare you for success in your chosen academics and career field. Our CTE programs provide hands-on experiences in engineering, healthcare, criminal justice, education, and more, offering valuable skills and certifications for future success. Alongside our comprehensive curriculum, we provide accurate grading using a standards-based approach, providing a more accurate and meaningful representation of students' knowledge and skills in order to guide your academic progress effectively. Academic counseling services are available to guide you through course selection, career exploration, and academic challenges. Migrant advisors also offer dedicated support for migrant students, ensuring they receive tailored assistance and resources. Additionally, our comprehensive testing program, including ACT and ACT Aspire exams, offers insights to tailor our curriculum effectively, preparing you for success in higher education and beyond.

We're thrilled to embark on this educational journey with you and look forward to celebrating your successes in academics and career readiness.

Programs of Study

The selection of an appropriate program of study is an important decision which requires direct involvement of the counselor, teachers, parents, and student. The purpose is to plan a challenging, goal-oriented four-year high school program. This graduation plan should be carefully developed in order to meet both graduation requirements and fulfill student educational goals.

NOTE: Some courses are taught at only one school, due to facility and/or equipment limitations. Students from one campus may enroll in a course taught on another, if scheduling permits. Students who wish to take a class at another school and can work it into their schedules must provide their own transportation.
